POSTPONED Alan Syliboy and The Thundermakers in concert with the Upstream Ensemble

POSTPONED
Musically and artistically expansive Mi’Kmaw group Alan Syliboy and the Thundermakers will join Halifax’s new music and improvisation group the Upstream Ensemble for an unforgettable collaboration on April 2 at King’s.

Alan Syliboy is a renowned Mi’kmaw visual artist, author and activist. With his group, he explores improvised storytelling and spoken word accompanied by evocative music featuring ECMA Lifetime Achievement honouree Hubert Francis and gifted electric guitarist Evan Syliboy.

The Upstream Ensemble, led by bassist Lukas Pearse, drawing upon some of the finest composer-improvisers in Atlantic Canada, will join the Thundermakers for their songs and spoken word pieces, and contribute new compositions in collaboration with—and inspired by—Syliboy’s multifaceted artwork, projected to immerse the audience in the world of Syliboy’s vision.
