Toronto’s Nick Fraser in concert with Upstream Ensemble

Upstream Music Association presents the Nick Fraser Quartet in concert with members of the Upstream Ensemble.

One of Toronto's finest creative music drummers, Nick Fraser's music has strong connections with the approach Upstream takes to bridging the sound world between tightly structured composition and cohesive improvisation. Bringing together musicians with a wide range of skills and experience, this combination of artists promises to ignite a truly memorable event.

Nick Fraser will be joining the Upstream Ensemble on drums, along with Tony Malaby on tenor sax, performing his compositions. 

The Upstream Ensemble will feature:

Jeff Reilly, bass clarinet

Rick Waychesko, trumpet

Dawn Hatfield, baritone sax

Andrew Jackson, trombone

Andrew McKelvie, alto sax

Geordie Haley, electric guitar

Lukas Pearse, double bassThe Nick Fraser Quartet is a remarkable group with Tony Malaby on saxophone as well as the visionary pairing of Rob Clutton on double bass with Andrew Downing on cello.
