CONCERT - A Love Upstream featuring Lori Freedman - World Premieres of new compositions by guest clarinetist Freedman, A Love Upstream's Paul Cram amd Lukas Pearse and Dalhousie Music student Alice Hanson, as well as works by Jeff Reilly (Klangfarben Waltz), Frederic Rzewski (Les Moutons de Panurges), John Woolrich (A Frank Exchange for Frank Zappa) and John Zorn (Cobra).

IMPROV w/Lori WORKSHOP with Lori Freedman - Wednesday, January 7, 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM - Sir James Dunn Theatre. This is a public workshop. Performers at all levels interested in techniques and organization of free improvisation are invited to participate (bring your instrument). Participants $20 /free for Dalhousie Music students/Auditors $10.

STATE OF THE ART - Panel discussion with Lori Freedman, Lukas Pearse and others - January 10th - 3 pm to 5 pm Room 406 - Dalhousie Art Centre - free admission . A discussion session focussing on the state of contemporary improvised and composed music: latest currents, challenges and opportunities. Free Admission. Audience participation is encouraged.

A Love Upstream is Upstream Music's current houseband. It is: Rick Waychesko – trumpet, Jeff Reilly – bass clarinet/clarinet/conduction, Paul Cram - tenor sax/clarinet/conduction, Dawn Hatfield – baritone and alto saxes/flute, Lee Park – violin, Lukas Pearse – contrabass/electric bass/electronics, Jeff Torbert – guitar/electronics, David Burton/drums.
